Emotional struggle

Beginning contemplative practice is not easy. A lot of the emotions and worries that we often submerge rise to the surface.

I've been working on a meditation practice for over two weeks now. And I feel raw. My emotions are so bare that honestly for a while there I felt powerless over them.

In the stillness of meditation you can meet parts of yourself that you didn't know were even alive. It is a mistake to think that meditation will immediately (and perhaps it never will) lead you to a place of emotional calm. If calm isn't what's in your soul right now no practice will invent it for you.

That being said I think I must return to a writing practice as well if meditation is going to be in my life. Need something to do with all my thoughts.
